If YouTube was A Physical Space

I’ve been thinking.
We need physical spaces that bring the appeal of YouTube and social media, out of that etheric internet ‘web’. I sound like a Grandma but imagine… Crittall dividers like the squares on Instagram posts, and YouTube videos. Everyone could have their own little nook, but that’s open to everyone. Pretty much a studio, co-working space… with a little sass!

Don’t get me wrong, the Internet is great, from the comfort of your own home. But I was around when the Internet first started, yes, I was there. Playing Sims and Xoo Tycoon. But I also know that it needs a balance, and should not be confused for the real world. We need the physical connection and social skills, and a space we feel as accepted and safe to express ourselves as the Internet provides.

We need our YouTopia.

We need the built environment to bring us together, we can do what we want everywhere else! Our Bodies move, buildings don’t. It’d be like the thrill of decorating your own room! You could curate the spaces with people that could benefit from each other. Building in a Building.

We’re the generation. The rule-changers. Let’s not just change buildings, but change their role.

Astrological Generations

“The committed ones,” 1988-1995 (Uranus conjunct Neptune in Capricorn, Pluto in Scorpio) — Steady, persistent, determined, ambitious and passionate. They have great talent in the arts, politics and organisation … great leaders who lay down lasting foundations for a new age of civilisation.
